What A Dream!

Rarely do I remember the details of my dreams and this is the first time I took the time to document it. It’s been a few weeks, but it still speaks to me. I pray that it helps someone other than myself.

I dreamed that I was standing outside my home and felt that God was telling me not to go in the house. I had stepped outside a few minutes earlier. After a short while, I decided to leave. Just as I was about to close the front door, I realized that I didn’t have my purse or my keys. I slowly walked back inside, justifying in my mind that God was only trying to protect me from someone who may have been in there earlier and possibly ran out the back door. I was truly expecting to hear someone run out the back. I even peeked around the corner as I moved further into the house. The back door was closed. I saw my keys but, before I could grab them, someone grabbed me from behind. We struggled and he picked up my keys, with the intent to beat me with them. He was big and strong. I told him that he wasn’t going to have me without a fight. He started smiling, as if he was looking forward to the fight (knowing he was stronger than me). I started punching him as hard as I could. I woke up, punching my pillow.

I had this dream several days ago and have gained understanding of a few details, as I reviewed them over time. When I awakened from the dream, I immediately understood one thing. I did not obey God. He told me not to go back in the house. So what if my keys were in there. God said don’t go in there. This was a dream, but how many times have we decided to do what made sense instead of what God directed us to do? Let’s turn back to Him and His plan.
